AGT has continued involvement with its sister company Desaln8 at the Flemington Racecourse in-situ desalination project. November-December work included groundwater sampling, PHREEQC geochemical modelling and on-ground optimisation to improve wellfield performance.
An underground mine in Victoria has engaged AGT to evaluate the feasibility of developing an injection scheme as one of the mines water management strategies. The study identified a number of prospective targets for reinjection near the mine that are being considered by the mine for further investigation.
AGT was engaged by an underground mine in South Australia to undertake hydrological and geochemical modelling to support mine closure plan. AGT used a two-step sequential physical – chemical coupling method to solve solute transport equations to evaluate geochemical processes within the underground mine and Tailing Storage Facility. Modelling was split into a hydraulic step to simulate groundwater flow, followed by a chemical step, to simulate the transport of solutes.
AGT was engaged by a water utility company to investigate whether expanding the ASR Scheme can provide a suitable alternative to on-ground water storages. The goal of the potential expansion is to store enough water during periods of high river flow that can be recovered for urban use. AGT undertook a strategic review of the existing ASR Scheme and provided high level cost estimates and concept designs for potential scheme expansion. The review considered learnings from the existing ASR operation.e.

AGT was engaged to provide hydrogeological and field support for a drilling and test pumping program on a remote salt lake in WA. The remoteness and soft lake bed conditions presented technical challenges to the drilling program which were overcome by the use of a helicopter that was used to mobilise the drilling rig and support equipment to over 25 drilling locations.e.
AGT has completed two groundwater environmental assessment to support the development and expansion of two separate quarries in NSW. Groundwater assessments were evaluated against the Aquifer Interference Policy and Water Sharing Plans. AGT is pleased to learn that both projects recently received development consent from the NSW Planning and Infrastructure
AGT undertook a series of step and constant rate discharge tests at a Golf Course in the southern suburbs. Work was commissioned to investigate the potential for water supplies through characterisation of aquifer properties within the fractured rock aquifer. The work resulted in calculation of sustainable pumping rates and volumes at Golf Course production wells.
