Melbourne Water commissioned AGT to investigate the potential for aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) for wastewater reuse applications. The study examines the demand and the capacity of different aquifers to host ASR. AGT has ranked aquifer provinces according to prospectivity criteria and identified potential sources of water. AGT has developed a shortlist of recommended sites at which to conduct pilot trials.

AGT has been commissioned to conduct investigations including risk assessments, drilling new bores, geophysical logging, groundwater discharge tests and water quality testing. As part of the Water Proofing projects in South Australia, AGT provides integrated water resource management strategy, ongoing advice on system design, and annual monitoring.

Western Australia

AGT has been engaged to conduct a technical peer review of the hydrogeological investigation and engineering design for a proposed aquifer injection trial into the Southern Fortescue Borefield. Investigations include a pre-trial assessment of the risks of potable reuse of water recovered from the Marandoo mine site during mine dewatering.
